Stagecoach Bus Drivers’ cheeky calendar boosts Charities bottom line
Dare-to-bare Yorkshire bus drivers from Stagecoach Sheffield took on board design support from Bradford-based This is Chemistry when they revealed all – well, almost – in a cheeky charity calendar. Preserving their dignity with props including car wash sponges, buckets, even vacuum flasks, over 20 plucky drivers decided stripping off would be just the ticket to raise funds for Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
“It was huge fun to work on the project and a treat to appoint and work alongside, celebrated Yorkshire photographer, Monty Rakusen,” says Martin Fisher, a Partner in the Bradford marketing agency, who directed the photoshoot and design of the 2012 calendar. He added: “To their credit the drivers, two of them women, were determined to emulate the renowned Calendar Girls of Rylstone Women’s Institute and bravely posed in their birthday suits for the pictures.”
The calendar is now selling fast, over 900 copies on the first day alone, throughout South Yorkshire, priced £6 and can be purchased from selected outlets in Sheffield. Bus passengers in South Yorkshire are proving as keen to support a good cause as they are to see the calendar page for December, on which the drivers come close to the ‘full monty.’
