To us CSR is like dominos, the numbers add up and when used creatively can have a great ripple effect.
As a successful business we have a direct impact on the people and places around us and a responsibility to support local communities and the environment. We think long term and work sustainably. We means using less, recycling and choosing suppliers that think the same way as we do.
Corporate Social Responsibility, its not just a whim.
We started by putting our own house in order. In the studio, we make sure that all materials used are recycled. We reuse all our paper. And when there is absolutely no room left for scribbling down ideas, we recycle. We’ve also replaced paper invoices with PDF’s and invested in an online project management system, that allows us to reduce the amount of paper we use, without cutting corners on service.
On the job
We wouldn’t be the company we are without our people. So, we take care to look after them and make sure they get the tools and technology they need to perform. That includes providing regular training, developing new skills and supporting new ways of working.
Spreading the word
A larger spread of dominos is better than a small one. To really make a difference, we needed everyone we knew to go green too. As a result we have been on a mission ever since, to encourage our clients to print on recycled paper, use waterless inks, support new initiatives and choose sustainable suppliers and ultimately to show how this can benefit our clients business and boost profits.
Supply and demand
More and more printers are becoming ISO 14001 compliant than ever before (in case you’re wondering it’s a high standard of environmental regulation that limits pollution and encourages recycling.) And that’s good news for us, our clients and the environment. We are also finding it easier to purchase recycled or FSC certified paper at a competitive price. Together these two initiatives help us lessen the environmental impact of the print work we undertake.
The big picture, lets face it.
Corporate Social Responsibility is a real mouthful and covers everything from governance, sourcing, eco-efficiency, environmental management, stake holder consultation, labour standards, and employee and community relations.
We don’t profess to be experts in every area, however we have taken simple steps towards a cleaner, greener way of working and remain committed to sourcing better materials, products and processes.
