BUTTERSHAW BUSINESS STUDENTS MEET MARKETING GURU
In its determination to transform business education in Bradford, Buttershaw Business and Enterprise College is harnessing support from successful businesses across the district.
The college’s AS Level Business students are, potentially, tomorrow’s business leaders and entrepreneurs.
So when a presentation was needed on the role of design, marketing and public relations in building increased awareness and improved perceptions of growing businesses the college turned to Bradford-based Chemistry Creative Partners.
The college’s invitation led to Ray Mason, Head of Client Services at the fast-growing agency, dusting off his mortar board to become Buttershaw’s visiting ‘Professor of Promotions.’
Among Chemistry’s locally-based clients is Bradford Kickstart, the successful Council programme which has already helped more than 300 local people to start new businesses in the district.
Ray, one of Yorkshire’s most experienced marketing and promotions experts, has an impressive track record of promoting household name brands on behalf of top London and regional agencies.
“All organisations, especially those in highly-competitive business sectors, need to use marketing, design and PR to promote their products or services,” says Ray. “I was happy to pass on to the Buttershaw students some tips they would find useful both in their studies and in their future careers.”
Conrad Tetley, the college’s Head of Business Teaching added: “When we approached Martin Fisher, a Partner in Chemistry Creative, he was very keen to develop a symbiotic relationship with the college to embed and promote vocational learning. This underlines the value the agency places on developing tomorrow’s entrepreneurs.”
