National FM business appoints This is Chemistry
Date: 23/09/2009
One of the UK’s leading facilities management companies has appointed this is Chemistry as its marketing and public relations partner as it looks to increase its annual turnover from £195 million to £350m, by 2013.
Romec Ltd appointed us following a three-way pitch where we impressed them with our ideas on how to raise their profile among both the public and within the business world.
Our first task has been to update its branding, which saw us hire a colour psychologist to align each of its product areas with a shade that best represents the individual groups as a way of segmenting the business.

A rolling programme of bringing this visual rebrand into the public domain has now begun, and stretches from marketing/promotional material through to staff uniforms, stationary and signage.
Martin Fisher, Partner at this is Chemistry, said: “Being appointed at Romec’s official marketing and public relations partner is great news for us, and further adds to our credentials as one of the leading creative agencies in the north.
“We are currently finalising Romec’s digital brochure which will form a major part of the company’s marketing strategy, and are also managing the redesign of its headquarters in Stockport, plus its five group offices.

“Once complete each office will have a colour scheme, including furniture, which reflects the relevant product area and will help to unify the business.”
Romec was founded in 1989 by Royal Mail to look after its estate of 2,500 buildings; and in 2002 Balfour Beatty Workplace took a 49 per cent share in the company.
The company is now one of the UK’s largest facilities management businesses, directly employing 4,300 people, and is looking to reposition itself in the market place to help increase its annual turnover to around £350 million, by 2013.
Mike Sparrow, Romec Managing Director, said: “Good people do find each other, and Chemistry fits in perfectly with our values of innovation and outstanding technological performance.”
