Martin entered the industry as a media buyer on major retail accounts before a substantial stint in publishing. Lured back into the industry by ‘an offer he couldn’t ignore,” he joined a Midlands-based Agency to work on major accounts.He established a well-regarded, Leeds-based marketing services agency in 1988 and remained as Managing Director until 2006 when he left to establish Chemistry with long-time friend and colleague Jonathan Southcott.
Martin’s tremendous enthusiasm for the Marketing and Creative industry and real passion for ‘making things work’ characterise his approach to business. A varied skill set that encompasses art direction, conceptual development and account direction make him a versatile team player. His hands-on experience and pragmatic approach has enabled the safe delivery of many significant projects including sales strategy, branding, creative, web development, packaging product launches and events across the UK, Europe, China, India and the United States.
His creative, tangential and often unorthodox view of marketing challenges, anchored by a results-driven rather than pure theoretical approach, has been recognised in both B2B and B2C sectors. He has significant experience in chemical, construction, textile, education and public sector work.
