Ron Miller, PR service lead at Chemistry, is one of Yorkshire’s most experienced writers and PR practitioners. He is well known in Bradford District and passionate about promoting it.

A qualified journalist, Ron spent 12 years as a writer on leading Yorkshire newspapers, including the Yorkshire Evening Post.

He spent 10 years in the PR departments of, international airlines, British Airways and British Caledonian, he practised media relations internationally and edited the airline’s worldwide staff newspaper for five years.

Ron has more than 15 years’ experience of PR consultancy at Account Director level. He has worked in many business sectors, including financial services, construction, property and supply chain management. He directed PR for Leeds Bradford International Airport for four years, contributing to the successful campaign to operate 24/7.

He also has wide experience of working in the public sector, with both Leeds City Council and Bradford Council. He also spent four years as Marketing and Communications Manager of Bradford Vision, the District’s Local Strategic Partnership, from 2002-06 and three years masterminding the public relations effort for Kickstart the highly acclaimed LEGI scheme. Ron maintained a 100% publication record with Every Kickstart story and news release written and placed with media contacts generating positive coverage.

He is also well known to journalists at BCB Bradford Community Radio, for whom he presented the programme “Glass Half Full”, which reported good news from around the District. Ron is Deputy Chairman of the Yorkshire Housing Foundation, a registered charity working for elderly and disabled clients. Also, he is Treasurer of the Yorkshire Young Achiever Awards, which have raised more than £500,000 for the leading national charity Action for Children. In addition he writes and edits a newsletter for the Bradford District Faiths Forum;  this is widely read by members of seven different faiths who worship in the District’s churches, mosques and temples
