Pick ‘n’ mix. It’s a great concept as long as its the right mix.

We know it’s tough out there, with budgets and resources stretched like never before. We also appreciate that only a select few can afford the luxury of working with a “big” multi-disciplined marketing agency offering a single day-to-day contact.

So, we decided to redress the balance and offer a full agency service with considerably lower overheads.

With over 60 years of combined marketing experience and an address book to match, we have access to a network of trusted strategic partners. So whatever your marketing requirements, we can instantly deliver the people you need to deliver your campaigns - but only when you need them.

This ‘pay as you go’ approach to marketing brings you all the benefits of big-agency expertise for a fraction of cost. It also gives you more time to manage your own business, instead of managing a network of external suppliers.

Brand development

Development is the key word here. For us, a brand should be a moving target. Brands should be on the way up or on the way down, never standing still, and so we need to be flexible enough to slot straight into the process, whatever the stage of your brand’s existence.

Advertising

It's often said that today's press advertising is tomorrow's chip paper (health and safety permitting!). But that sweeping generalisation completely overlooks the fact that the advertising industry in this country has been producing ground-breaking press and broadcast advertising for over half a century. Think the Volkswagen Golf 'mink coat‚Äö' ad with Paula Hamilton; think Peugeot's 'burning fields' ad; think any Cadbury Flake ad; think Joan Collins and Leonard Rossiter for Cinzano Bianco; think of the Nescafe 'will-they-won't-they' ads featuring Tony Head and Sharon Maugham. All of these were made right here in the UK yet all reverberated around the globe (or at least the places on the globe that could receive TV signals...). That makes the average UK consumer – at a deeply subliminal level – a very, very creatively discerning customer, with the youth market the toughest of all.

Web and digital

It’s been some time now since the balance in the UK tipped to give us more wired homes than unwired ones – and the uptake of broadband is moving at a pace that would shame a cheetah on steroids.

Direct marketing

The welcome mat is a crowded place, with more and more brands and products fighting for a place on it. The phrase “junk mail” is often bandied about – and yet there’s plenty of robust research to show that a relevant, well-crafted and well-delivered mailer is not perceived as junk mail, even when it is not individually addressed.

Research

The old adage tells us that if we don't ask, we don't get. Maybe so - but a lot depends on what and how you ask. Take a group of people and ask "want a free cup of coffee?" and the answer will be an almost unanimous "yes". But take the same group of people and ask "would you buy my product six times, cut the coupons, send them to me and get a voucher for a free cup of coffee?" then the answers will be very different - yet will provide a clear insight into the attractiveness of the proposition and the willingness of the customer to respond.

Public Relations

We are big believers in PR, whether it stands for public relations or press relations. We view it as a valuable tool in the communications toolbox.

Events and exhibitions

Occasionally, you need to stick your head above the parapet. You may need to attend a trade show, exhibition, host a press reception, engage in a little (or a lot of) corporate hospitality or maybe even run the dreaded AGM.
